The Plagued Years

Plenty Water 03:34
I heard it from a friend, The story from the end, Where your rivers winds is plenty water. And it’s all ok, Life is on a string, On the other line, God is talking. Head on fire, just thinking aloud - “All these torrents are wearing me out.” When you came along, A story turned to song, A dreamer in the eye, A glimmer walking. The apple and the tree, As far as I could tell, You were just a child, Alive in wanting. Here we are as the end runs out, The fruit of delight is tasting sour. My creation drawn to ruin. My creation drawn to ruin. It’s so easy to see how we came to be, Evil is alive, born in nature. Afraid of what we feel, confuse it all as real, Then we take a side and never wander. Maybe some day we’ll figure it out, Better angels are human now. My creation drawn to ruin. My creation drawn to ruin. I heard it from a friend, The story from the end, Where your rivers winds is plenty water.

On our backs, the darkest night, You prayed for peace on a satellite. We burned sage to rid the world of our egos. How many miles away does it take, Until we can leave this place? How far gone do we have to be to get there? I want to run away from the fear, That drives decisions here, Into a world where everything is equal. We practice loving kindness. Practice loving kindness. We’re farther down the deepest well, Every way out looks uphill, In the end the only path is forward. I wish that I could synthesize, Make these changes realized, I keep on moving with the only steps I know how. Practice loving kindness Practice loving kindness Looking back through time and space, Were we always this misbehaved? Through our lens could we ever even notice? Out beyond what we understand, Through future’s looking glass, I see a world alive in every moment. We practice loving kindness. Practice loving kindness.

Try Soon 04:32
I haven’t seen my lover in a while, I haven’t seen my lover, Left me under the light of the night, I haven’t seen my lover. When the trumpets sound, Will we all rise for glory? I haven’t seen my lover in a while, Darling come home soon. I haven’t seen my sister in a while, I haven’t seen my sister, Dark green eyes, her woven hair, I have seen my sister. When the trumpets sound, Will we all rise for glory? I haven’t seen my sister in a while, Sitting in her room. It’s been a long time, Got a mind full of worries, Trying to find the fool in the story Life, brings a whole lot of nothing, I haven’t seen my sister in a while, Guess I should try soon. Guess I should try soon. I haven’t seen my brother in a while, I haven’t seen my brother. Grown together now we’re apart, I haven’t seen my brother. When the trumpets sound, Will we all rise for glory? I haven’t seen my brother in a while, Chasing down that moon. I haven’t seen no savior in a while, I haven’t seen no savior. The world went dark, she lost her spark. I haven’t seen no savior When the trumpets sound, Will we all rise for glory? I haven’t seen my lover in a while, I haven’t seen my sister in a while, I haven’t seen my brother in a while, Guess I should try soon. It’s been a long time, Got a mind full of worries, Trying to find the fool in the story Life, brings a whole lot of nothing, I haven’t seen my savior in a while, Guess I should try soon. Guess I should try soon.

It’s a bad one, it’s a strange day, I see you dreaming, the future’s in the way. Where the road ends, ain’t a straight line, But I’ve noticed, I see it too sometimes. Until the end of time love, And every passing day. Well the big one’s coming real soon, It’s getting hotter, and hard to make it through. When our children need a reason, What do I know? It’s always been this way. Until the end of time love, And every passing day. Can’t afford the life we built to waste. Deep inside the walls we found a way, I know it here and now. When I met you, it was chaos, A broken signal, static in the noise. Through the curtain, in a dreamscape, Well I’ve known you, if that means anything. Until the end of time love, And every passing day. Can’t afford the life we built to waste. Deep inside the walls we found a way, I know it here and now.

It was the best of times for some, The worst for all the rest. In the little town of Bethlehem, A star shone in the West. A dream for the believers, Of better life to come, Even now, through all they've seen, They'll celebrate his love. Glory, in the plagued years, Hallelujah, Hallejuah. I wonder, back in history, When death was all around, Did they still sing those yuletide carols, Hang angles in the air? Did they wake up in the morning, With love in their eyes? Did they hold their faith a little closer, If only for one night? Was there glory in the plagued years? Hallelujah, Hallejuah. If there is a reason, I find it hard to see. Blame it on the carpenter who built this crooked place. It was the best of times for some, The worst for all the rest. In a little town in Oregon, The people did their best. Some stayed home for others, Some just didn't care, Others lie in hospital, A season left unshared. I guess I should be thankful, I'm just weary of the times, I'll keep a watch over my family, I'll shine a brighter light. I'll find glory in the plagued years. Hallelujah, Hallejuah. If there is a reason, I find it hard to see. Blame it on the carpenter who built this crooked place.
