I heard it from a friend,
The story from the end,
Where your rivers winds is plenty water.
And it’s all ok,
Life is on a string,
On the other line, God is talking.
Head on fire, just thinking aloud -
“All these torrents are wearing me out.”
When you came along,
A story turned to song,
A dreamer in the eye,
A glimmer walking.
The apple and the tree,
As far as I could tell,
You were just a child,
Alive in wanting.
Here we are as the end runs out,
The fruit of delight is tasting sour.
My creation drawn to ruin.
My creation drawn to ruin.
It’s so easy to see how we came to be,
Evil is alive, born in nature.
Afraid of what we feel, confuse it all as real,
Then we take a side and never wander.
Maybe some day we’ll figure it out,
Better angels are human now.
My creation drawn to ruin.
My creation drawn to ruin.
I heard it from a friend,
The story from the end,
Where your rivers winds is plenty water.
